Often TPS clients find that the product they need as part of their technical solution isn\u2019t available off the shelf, and their quantity requirements to warrant a large manufacturer building a custom product for them. At TPS, we have successfully manufactured a series of products to fulfil client requirements.\u00a0We start by identifying the project, budgetary, technical and deployment requirements. Our solution architects then proceed to develop a custom product to suit these requirements. We involve the client all the way through the development, design, prototype and manufacturing process so that we can provide a product which completely suits their requirements.<\/p>\n

Many products that TPS produce are manufactured and supplied by our sister manufacturing company, cablevision.com.au<\/a>. Some recent examples of TPS product manufacturing include;<\/p>\n

IRIP (In Room IP) Access Switch<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Telstra required a custom network switch that could be used to provide triple play IP services for their clients in rural industrial locations, usually mining camps. They needed a unmanaged switch which could provide PoE (Power Over Ethernet) to 8 downstream ethernet ports to power IP telephones, data ports and video set top boxes. To reduce fibre backhaul, they also needed TPS to develop single mode, DWDM SFP\u2019s which would allow 10 Gig ether connectivity to occur over a single strand of optical glass.\u00a0In response to this request, TPS developed, tested, supplied and maintained the IRIP Access switch, which eventually became known as the IRIP ONT (In Room Internet Protocol Optical Network Terminal).<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Cablevision 400-CV24P-2 Network Management Switch\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A TPS client had a requirement to deploy a network switch in AC, DC and mixed environments. The switch needed to feature hot-swappable power supplies with reversible air-flow fan direction, include upto two SFP+ \u201cupstream ports\u201d, and most importantly be the appropriate size to be installed into a 19\u201d or 21\u201d half depth exchange rack.\u00a0We took these requirements and developed our managed, small form factor dual powered AC\/DC\/Hybrid supply and SFP uplink capable switch. The switch also featured in-band and out-of-band management capability.\u00a0The switch has been deployed in HFC applications (national head ends), FTTP (fibre to the premises) head ends, regional FTTP intermediate sites and Digital Video Network Minor and Major multimedia nodes.\u00a0The switch has proved to be very successful and reliable and is currently supporting networks around Australia today.<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

HFC Galvanic Isolator\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

During recent deployment, one of our clients had a requirement to find a replacement isolator to replace their end-of-life isolators which could not pass requisite frequencies. The difficulty was that the isolator needed to fit within an existing enclosure which they had widely deployed throughout their network.\u00a0TPS successfully engineered, prototyped and tested a 1 GHz isolator with the same physical size as the existing model which it needed to replace.<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

TPS87381AA apartment amplifier\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Our client Telstra, had a requirement to find a suitable replacement for their end-of-life (and end of support) apartment house amplifier. When HFC networks are extended into medium and large size MDU\u2019s (Multiple Dwelling Unit) allotments, an amplifier to extend the reach of the signal is often required. Whilst amplifiers are typically deployed throughout HFC networks, these are located in public space and derive power from pole mount power supplies known as LPS\u2019s (Line Power Supplies). For electrical safety reasons, when the network is extended onto private property (even communal space), power sourced from the LPS\u2019s mounted in the street must be \u201cblocked\u201d for protective reasons.\u00a0This requirement means that power for the apartment amplifier needs to be sourced from a standard GPO within the MDU complex.\u00a0As requested, TPS designed, tested\/certified, constructed and supplied an 862 MHz apartment amplifier for Telstra. The amplifier has successfully been nationally deployed into thousands of apartment complexes.<\/p>\n

As the amplifier was often used to retrofit existing amplifiers, it needed to include brackets which matched the existing penetrations. Cable entry also needed to be cable of matching the existing layout.\u00a0The amplifier was designed to be configurable with a simplified range of plug-in forward and return equalisers and attenuator. The product is currently supplied and supported nationally within Australia.<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
