Product design and manufacturing service
CABMAX GNA 65851A
Several of our clients operate HFC networks that were constructed from equipment supplied by Philips Broadband Networks, specifically the Diamond series of Magnavox amplifiers. The desire is to upgrade their networks to provide greater reliability and carry additional bandwidth. When upgrading an amplifier, the operator needs to typically splice in the cables to a new amplifier housing. TPS developed the CABMAX series of amplifiers, which were available as 862 MHz or 1 GHz variants, and most importantly would plug-in to an operators existing Philips housings. The amplifiers were successfully designed, tested, type approved by major operators and subsequently manufactured. The CABMAX amplifiers had the added benefit of also utilizing the same plug-in stock which operators had already invested in to support the TPS87381AA.

DFB (Distributed Feedback) return path optical transmitter
One of our clients had a fleet of optical nodes deployed within their HFC network. The problem was that the nodes were again, becoming unreliable and the only remaining return path transmitter available to be purchased for these nodes featured a FP (Fabry Perot) laser diode. The FP lasers didn’t have the reach an reliability of a DFB laser. Our client was faced with the prospect of replacing their nodes as a replacement return path transmitter wasn’t available for purchase. TPS developed a retrofit return path transmitter to replace the legacy FP transmitters. The TPS return path transmitter featured a DFB diode, but most importantly connected straight into the existing node. The new return path transmitter TPS manufactured avoided our client needing to perform thousands of exceedingly costly node replacements and they could install the TPS return path transmitter at a fraction of the cost.

Cablevision QSHECC (Quad Shield RG59 Headend Cable)
Often when performing large rack construction and installation programs, supply of coaxial cable can be a constraint that is difficult to manage. Lead times vary for specialist cables. So as to meet vast supply demand for several fast-paced projects that required 10’s of thousands of metres of specialist headend cable, TPS engineered, manufactured, laboratory tested and certified our own Quad shield headend cable. Supply and manufacturing of this cable has allowed TPS to meet demanding time-line constraints. The cable is deployed throughout Telstra and nbn inside-plant headend, RF back-haul and digital video applications and networks nationally.
